James Lawson joins Neural Alpha Advisory Board to accelerate AI-powered sustainable investing for private and public market investing

London, 26 February 2026 — Neural Alpha today announced that James Lawson, former CEO and co-founder of Tribe Impact Capital, has joined the company’s Advisory Board. Lawson will support Neural Alpha’s strategy and product roadmap as the firm expands adoption of its AI-powered platform among both public market investors and private market allocators.

Neural Alpha has been building AI-native sustainability and risk analytics tools since 2016. Their platform helps investment teams and sustainability practitioners integrate decision-critical ESG and impact intelligence into research, due diligence, benchmarking and reporting. Lawson’s appointment reflects accelerating demand for scalable, transparent and auditable AI workflows as investors navigate growing data volumes, complex regulatory requirements and heightened scrutiny of sustainability claims.

The collaboration will focus on two high-growth areas: (1) private markets—where deal teams need rapid, evidence-linked sustainability and corporate performance analysis across limited disclosures; and (2) public markets—where asset owners and managers require consistent, explainable screening, stewardship intelligence and monitoring across large universes, sectors and supply chains.

James Phare, CEO of Neural Alpha, said:
“James brings rare, hands-on experience building a purpose-led investment business and embedding sustainability into real client portfolios. As AI reshapes what’s possible we’re excited to work with James to help investors move from experimentation to leveraging AI as a source of competitive advantage and bespoke integration of sustainability factors.”

James Lawson said:

“Sustainable investing is at an inflection point: expectations are rising, data is exploding, and investors need to evidence outcomes with greater rigour. Neural Alpha’s work shows how cutting-edge AI can unlock scale without sacrificing transparency—helping teams interrogate sources, surface material risks and focus capital where it can make a real difference. I’m delighted to join the Advisory Board and support the next phase of growth.”

AI is changing the economics of sustainable investing

● Neural Alpha research has found that as corporate sustainability reports grow to unprecedented lengths of an average 82 pages the right AI architecture can generate unprecedented cost savings of up to 75% in acquiring and analysing data.

● Better coverage in private markets: AI-assisted diligence can benchmark portfolio companies against frameworks and sector materiality, even where reporting is limited, supporting investment committees and ownership plans.

● Continuous monitoring at scale: Automated screening for controversies, supply chain exposures and regulatory changes helps investors prioritise engagement and respond quickly to emerging risks.

● More efficient stewardship and reporting: AI can streamline drafting of engagement briefs, rationale memos, SFDR/UK SDR-aligned narratives, and client reporting—while keeping traceability to underlying sources.
