David Curran joins Neural Alpha Advisory Board

London, 1st May 2026 — — Neural Alpha today announced that David Curran, recent Co-Chair of the Sustainability Advisory Practice and Executive Director of the Sustainability and Law Institute at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, has joined the company’s Advisory Board. Curran will advise Neural Alpha on strategy, product development and market positioning as the firm deepens its AI-powered sustainability analytics capabilities for investment teams, corporate compliance functions and legal practitioners.

Neural Alpha has been building AI-native sustainability and risk analytics tools since 2016. The company’s platform helps investment teams, sustainability practitioners and compliance professionals integrate decision-critical ESG and risk intelligence into research, due diligence, monitoring and reporting workflows. Curran’s appointment reflects growing demand from organisations seeking to operationalise sustainability commitments through scalable, transparent and legally defensible AI systems—particularly as regulatory complexity intensifies across jurisdictions.

Curran brings more than 30 years of experience spanning legal practice, technology, compliance, risk and ethics. Before joining Paul, Weiss, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer at FiscalNote, a legal AI and technology company, and held senior business and legal leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, IntraLinks, Integrity Interactive, Havas, Vertis and Campbell Soup Company. He began his career as a media trial and appellate lawyer before moving into senior in-house legal and regulatory affairs positions.

The collaboration will focus on the increasingly complex intersection of sustainability, regulation and AI—where investment teams and corporate compliance functions face mounting pressure to demonstrate that their sustainability claims, disclosures and due diligence processes are robust, evidence-based and auditable. Curran was also co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s ESG Committee, which aims to educate and engage lawyers, law students and faculty on ESG practices and developments.

James Phare, CEO of Neural Alpha, said:
“Dave sits at a unique intersection of law, technology and sustainability that is increasingly where our clients need to operate. As regulatory frameworks multiply and scrutiny of sustainability claims intensifies, organisations need AI tools that don’t just surface insights but do so in ways that are transparent, traceable and defensible. Dave’s experience building resilience programmes and leading thought leadership at the cutting edge of business, technology and compliance will be invaluable as we help clients move from sustainability aspiration to evidence-based action.”

David Curran said:
“The sustainability landscape has shifted from voluntary aspiration to regulatory expectation—and organisations need technology that can keep pace. What impresses me about Neural Alpha is their commitment to building AI that is not only powerful but auditable and transparent, which is exactly what legal, compliance and investment teams need as they navigate an increasingly complex web of disclosure requirements, stakeholder expectations and reputational risk. I’m excited to join the Advisory Board and help the team extend their impact across the legal, compliance and investment communities.””

AI is changing the economics of sustainability compliance and investing

• Scaling disclosure analysis: Neural Alpha research has found that as corporate sustainability reports grow to an average of 82 pages, the right AI architecture can generate cost savings of up to 75% in acquiring and analysing data—freeing legal and compliance teams to focus on interpretation, strategy and client advice.

• Regulatory readiness across jurisdictions: AI-powered workflows can map corporate disclosures against evolving frameworks—from SFDR and the EU Taxonomy to the UK SDR and SEC climate rules—helping organisations identify gaps and demonstrate compliance with greater consistency and speed.

• Defensible due diligence in private markets: AI-assisted analysis can benchmark portfolio companies against frameworks and sector materiality even where reporting is limited, supporting investment committees, legal review and ownership plans with evidence-linked intelligence.

• Continuous monitoring and risk surveillance: Automated screening for controversies, supply chain exposures and regulatory changes helps organisations prioritise engagement, manage reputational risk and respond quickly to emerging threats.

• Streamlined stewardship and reporting: AI can accelerate drafting of engagement briefs, rationale memos, regulatory narratives and client reporting—while maintaining full traceability to underlying sources for legal and audit review.
